Business Licences

If you are conducting business within the District of Squamish you require a valid Business Licence.

Our objective is to provide necessary information, and to promote growth and success for residents and non-residents who are starting up businesses throughout the District of Squamish.

*Reminder: Business licences are non-transferrable. Change in business ownership requires new application and new fee payment, as per our Business Licence Bylaw No. 651, 1978. If you sell, terminate, change or move your business, please notify the District at 604.815.4961.

Business operators that are unlicensed and licence holders who do not ensure their sub-contractors and suppliers are licensed are subject to fines for each day the business licence bylaw offence occurs.

The Business Licence must be visibly displayed on the premises. Licence holders operating a mobile business must carry the licence with them while working in Squamish. Licences are valid to the end of each calendar year.

After July 31, 2011 the licence fees prescribed in Schedule "A" to this by-law shall be reduced by one-half in respect of a person who becomes liable to be licensed after the thirty-first day of July in any one year."
