Financial Services

Financial Services oversees the financial operation of the District. The Department provides financial information, advice to Council, other District Departments and the general public. The Financial Services Department is responsible the following services:

Property Tax, Utility Billing (water, sewer and garbage), Dog Licences, Renewal of Business Licences, Commercial Vehicle Licences, Accounting and Payroll, Treasury and Cash Management, Financial Planning and Budgets, Financial Reporting and Internal Control, Insurance Claims, Purchasing, Transit

Important Dates

Utilities notices mailed - end of March.

Deadline to claim the early payment discount on utility invoices - April 28, 2011

July 4, 2011: Deadline for 2011 property tax.

July 5, 2011 : 5 percent penalty added to outstanding taxes, including outstanding Home Owner Grants.

After August 2: Additional 5 percent penalty added to outstanding taxes, including outstanding Home Owner Grants.

October or November: Reminder for taxes and utility invoices outstanding.

December 31, 2011: Deadline for 2011 utilities and taxes.

January 1, 2012: Penalty and interest applied on all outstanding 2011 taxes and utilities

Property Tax invoices for 2011 will be mailed out at the end of May. If you do not receive one, please contact Financial Services at 604.815.5035.

Interim Utility Invoices for new customers will be sent out during the year.
