How To Apply

To assist us in reducing paper consumption, we request you submit your Employment Application online as this will aid in our pledge to reduce green house gas emissions.  The District of Squamish implemented a 12-step program that hopefully will exceed Kyoto protocol targets and timelines for reducing global warming pollution by taking action in our own operations and in our community. 

Complete and submit all sections of the Employment Application as thoroughly as possible, even if you are attaching a resume.  This application will introduce us to your experience, education and skills.  It is necessary to provide complete information, as this will be used to determine eligibility.  Past work performance checks may be conducted prior to appointment. 

All information provided will be considered confidential in the competition process.  Information provided will be used and disclosed for the purpose of determining the hire for this specific competition only.

Selection Process

Submit your completed Employment Application to Human Resources.  Upon receipt all applications will be reviewed for applicable skills, experience, and education.  Suitable candidates will then be selected for interviews.

We thank all applicants for their interest however only those selected for an interview will be contacted. 

If you are contacted for an interview, congratulations!  You will be invited to participate in one or more interview opportunities.  Personal interviews are opportunities for us to learn more about you and for you to learn more about us.  At this stage, you may be asked to supply references.

Once the interview process is complete, candidates will be contacted and updated about the process. Reference check(s) will then be conducted for the short-listed candidate(s). 

The successful candidate will receive an offer of employment or an employment contract for their signature and, if required for the position, a criminal record check.
