9th Annual Virtual Swim February 1st - April 27

Jan 14th '11

The District of Squamish is partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society for its 9th Annual Virtual Swim running from February 1st until April 27 to complete a 75km swim down the Nile in Egypt!

The Canadian Cancer Society encourages British Columbians to Live well. You can reduce your cancer risk by making healthy choices every day. Be aware. You can help detect cancer early by getting screened and knowing your body. Get involved. You can fight for change in your community to help reduce cancer risks.
Fight with us by volunteering or participating in your local Squamish Relay For Life.

This year’s Virtual swim encourages good health and physical fitness by swimming a 75km section of the Nile in Egypt. Complete the distance one lap at a time at Brennan Park; our guideline is that all Aquatic activities will count towards completing the 75-kilometre distance. If you aren't swimming laps of our 25m pool then 30 minutes of biking, walking, or running also equals 1km.

Whether or not you are a Relay For Life participant, you have the opportunity to fund raise for the Canadian Cancer Society. You can also sponsor some one else for every kilometre they swim bike or run, forms are available at the front desk if interested.

If getting fit and making a difference isn't enough of a motivator, just think of all the great prizes you can win in the process!

Signing up is free for you, your family, team, or group on our big poster on the pool deck.

Come to Brennan Park, go the distance, and log it on our poster next to the pool.

All ages are encouraged to take part in this fun event.
