The District of Squamish is pleased to announce its acquisition of 37966 Cleveland Avenue for the purchase price of $520,000. This 6,000 square foot property is located at the north end of the green space commonly known as Pavillion Park ("Block 19") in downtown Squamish. With the purchase of this key property the entire block between Cleveland Avenue and Loggers Lane from Victoria Street to Main Street is owned by the District of Squamish.

"This is a strategic acquisition by the District as it gives the community control of an entire block of public space in the centre of the downtown core," said Mayor Greg Gardner. "This allows us flexibility in realizing the potential long-term benefits of Block 19 and, in the short-term, will enhance the District's ability to optimally locate the O'Siem Pavillion here," continued Gardner.

The property acquired includes an approximately 1,300 square foot building of historical significance. The building was originally the home of the Squamish Post Office and is currently occupied by the Parkside Restaurant.
