On May 18, members of the public are invited to the Public Works Yard from Noon to 3 pm for hotdogs, beverages, and tours.
Since 1960, the National Public Works Week program has been celebrating and informing the public about the essential role that public works plays in the quality of their community as well as promoting public works as a career choice and recognizing those who currently serve in these crucial public roles.
This will be the first year that Squamish will celebrate Public Works Week and we’re going to make it special.
The Operations department will be hosting an open house on May 18 for all Squamish grade 4 students. Children will take part in hands on demonstrations and education on our parks, roads, water and wastewater services.
This invitation will be extended to members of the public from Noon to 3 pm to help educate the citizens of Squamish with tours and information of the Operations department.
Please join us for a hot dog and beverage from noon to 1 pm and tours from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Public Works Yard located at 39909 Government Road.
Operations “plows the way” to education on the workings of the public works department.
