Mr. Hoskin, a senior recreation leader for over 12 years brings with him extensive experience in project management, coaching, mentoring and communications. Mr. Hoskin held a range of leadership positions with BC Parks, Recreation Sites and Trails and was most recently with Trans Canada Trail as the National Director responsible for the strategic planning and overall operations of the Trail.
“We are excited to have Mr. Hoskin as a member of our team. His experience will enhance the District’s recreation services department as well as lead the department into a new period of growth with the recommendations set out in the Recreation Core Service Review Report,” said Chief Administrative Officer, Kevin Ramsay.
Mr. Hoskin holds a master's degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University and a diploma in Outdoor Recreation Management from Capilano University. Mr. Hoskin is a long-time Squamish resident who is raising his young family here.
Mr. Hoskin commented, "I am eager to begin my role and I look forward to working with staff and the community of Squamish to deliver an outstanding recreation program that meets the needs of our residents."
Mr. Hoskin assumed his role as Director of Recreation Services January 3, 2012.
