Reconstruction of the Boulevard and Highlands Way South and the installation of a watermain on the Boulevard between Skyline and Perth Drive has begun. The duration of construction is approximately 16 weeks.
These changes are part of Squamish’s long-term planning strategy designed to accommodate the future growth of Garibaldi Highlands.
The funding of this project is cost-shared by the District of Squamish and the developers of Quest University, the Sea to Sky Foundation.
Project Highlights include:
Watermain installation on the Boulevard between Skyline and Perth Drive.
Edge pavement reconstruction
Installation of bike lanes
Curb, gutter, sidewalks
Pavement leveling and resurfacing
Construction of three roundabouts
-the Boulevard and Perth Drive
-the Boulevard and Kintyre Drive
-the Boulevard and Highlands Way South
This project will better accommodate future traffic flow, provide dedicated bicycle lanes and enhance overall safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
