Winter is here and the District of Squamish would like to remind residents about snow clearing.

Sidewalk Maintenance

Traffic bylaw establishes the business or homeowner responsibility for sidewalk maintenance, litter, weed control and snow removal. The Operations Department assists with regular maintenance.

Street Maintenance

The annual paving program is completed through the Engineering Section of the Community Development Department. The Operations Department is is responsible for filling potholes, sweeping the streets, snow removal, weed control, dust abatement and litter control and can be reached at 604.815.6868.

Street Light Repair

In the event that a streetlight is not working please contact the Operations Department and provide the staff with the location and indicate whether the pole the street light is located on is wooden or metal. The staff will process the request and forward it to the appropriate contractor to have the repair work completed. If you are requesting a new street light or changes to your current streetlight please submit your request in writing and address it to the Manager of Operations.

Signage-street names/traffic/directional

Operations install and maintain all Municipal signage which includes street signs, traffic control and directional signage on Municipal roads. If you have a request for a sign installation or are reporting damage to a sign please contact the Operations Department 604.815.6868
