Squamish’s Local Guide to the 2010 Games Available January 27

Jan 22nd '10

Squamish, BC - The District of Squamish, in collaboration with community partners, created the Spirit of Squamish: Local’s Guide to the 2010 Olympic Games. This 28-page souvenir guide highlights the community celebrations, and provides residents with information to take full advantage of the Games experience

The Guide is a communication tool for residents to understand how to get around, where to watch the games and where to celebrate. It is a welcome guide to help the thousands of guests staying in Squamish throughout February to easily navigate around town.

“The guide was a partnership with the community to create one unified guide to capture the spirit of our community celebrations in Squamish, said Mayor Greg Gardner. “It is a souvenir to take home if you visiting and a memento of the Games Time experienced in Squamish, the Heart of the 2010 Olympic Games,” continued Gardner.

The Squamish Spirit Guide to the 2010 Games can be pick up at four different locations - Municipal Hall, Brennan Park Recreation Centre, the Squamish Library and the Squamish Adventure Centre as of January 27, 2010. The Guide is also available online at www.squamish.ca.

The District has ordered 12,000 copies and plans to order more if needed.
