Westway Avenue is a bike network road in the Offcial Community Plan.

Bike lanes are meant to provide a safe corridor for cyclists on
major roadways.

Because of the limited space on Westway, the introduction of the standard bicycle lanes would result in the elimination of most of the parking on Westway. Street parking is seen as an important asset by residents on Westway.

The District of Squamish is looking for a community-based solution that recognizes the community’s needs and the District’s limitations.
