Squamish.ca site reveals new look, improved functionality, Mayor’s Blog

Beginning today, squamish.ca has a brand new look. The District of Squamish has just unveiled a “refreshed” website to reflect its new brand. The site, which went live earlier today, was updated to improve user functionality on the homepage and provide increased opportunities for engagement and transparency.

"Our website creates an important opportunity for the community to become better informed and involved, and we are always looking at ways to improve that,” says Mayor Patricia Heintzman. “The website is an ever-evolving entity and feedback from residents on the user experience helps to shape the changes along the way.”

The most noticeable new feature in this update is the enhanced landing page which includes a series of rotating “quick links” to current issues, upcoming events and other useful information. The site also includes a new Mayor’s Blog, improved Council information, and a recap of the Mayor’s monthly meetings and events. Ongoing work to refresh existing content will be an active focus in the weeks following this launch.

Added functionality such as online payment options and improved registration opportunities are being explored as part of an information technology “road map” project, and will be incorporated in future updates.

The website refresh is another step in the ongoing implementation of the look and feel of Squamish’s new Hardwired for Adventure brand which launched last year. The brand, which represents Squamish’s unique combination of mountain, water and trail access, was designed to attract visitors, students, new residents and investors.
