Test of Metal Road Closures

On paper it's a 67-kilometre course with over 1,200 meters of climbing and 35 kilometres of single-track. Off paper it's an unforgettable day for everyone involved from the organizers and volunteers, to the thousands of spectators and of course the riders.

Please be aware that certain roads will be temporarily closed as racers pass by. Main road closures of note include:

• Highway 99 northbound lanes closed from Centennial Way to Mamquam Road from 10:59 a.m. to 11:09 a.m.
• Mamquam Road between Highway 99 and Garibaldi Way from 10:59 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.
• Loggers Lane between the Squamish Adventure Centre and Finch Drive from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Did you know, the first Test of Metal mountain bike race was held at Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast, back in the early 1990s. At that time, the race was known as the Brodie Test of Metal. The Brodie Test of Metal was then held in Squamish on the trails above Alice Lake in 1994 and 1995. The Squamish Test of Metal was reborn in 1996, and is celebrating its 18^th year in 2014.
