Recycling and Waste Management

The Solid Waste Department operates the Squamish Landfill and Transfer Station and provides residential garbage, food waste and recycling collection to more than 7,000 households in the community, both contracted to operated by GFL Environmental.

 

The District of Squamish has made a long-term commitment to achieving Zero Waste, reducing garbage, conserving resources, reducing greenhouse gases and creating a more sustainable community.
