Important Updates

Welcome!
Closed areas are re‑opening after almost two years of retrofit work! Thank you for your patience through the noise, dust, and detours — we really appreciate it!

This project was made possible thanks to an $11.7M grant from the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program (Infrastructure Canada) to support energy efficiency and accessibility improvements.

How Recreation Supports Your Child

  • Engaging the participant in a conversation.

  • Asking open ended question to discover how they are feeling.

  • Determining why they are feeling the way they are.

  • Brainstorming solutions together.

  • Incorporating their ideas.

  • Creating a plan.

You know your child best. Our team may connect with you to discuss your child’s experience when:

·         We would like information on how to best support your child’s specific needs

·         Your child has had repeated challenging moments

·         Disrespectful behavior has affected the experience of others

·         Safety has become a concern

·         Inappropriate language has been directed at others

Please note:
Staff are unable to provide personal care such assistance with toileting, administering medication or changing.

In the event the leadership team feels a participant is not able to be successful after implementing support strategies, they may be removed from the programs.

Examples include:

  • not following camp rules and guidelines.
  • running away from the group.
  • inappropriate language.
  • physical violence.
  • being disrespectful of others.
